Over the last four weeks, our NRFI recommendations are 34-24. Is that good? We think that’s good. We split our recommendations Tuesday, going 1-1, and we are 34-24 over our last 58 bets.

Today, we look to build on our success in the first-inning market. What are the best NRFI bets to make today? Let’s dive in.

Best NRFI Bets Today – Free NRFI Picks

NRFI Prediction 1: Pittsburgh Pirates at San Francisco Giants (-110)

We played this NRFI yesterday, and it lost on a fielding error. No matter. We are going back to the well today.

The Giants are one of the worst first-inning teams in baseball, averaging .43 runs per first inning, so we are going with the under in today’s NL showdown. However, the Giants have been hot in the first inning, averaging 1.67 runs per first inning over their last three games. As we mentioned, some of their runs scored on an error last night, so we are ready to fade them today.

Their run production in the first frame drops to .33 runs when they are on the road. The Giants’ numbers look better on paper than they actually are, so this is a great NRFI target.

Pittsburgh averages .39 runs per first frame, and though that number drops to .36 runs at home, so we like the NRFI. They have not scored a first-inning run in their last three games. Both offenses’ lack of first-inning success makes this a great NRFI target.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Minnesota Twins at Washington Nationals (-110)

After cashing this NRFI yesterday and Monday, we are going back to the well with the same two teams.

The Nationals are the best NRFI team in the MLB, putting up .21 runs per first frame. They are 3-0 to the NRFI in their last three games, and they score just .26 runs in the first at home. They are facing righty Simeon Wood Richardson, who has been great for the Twins so far this season.

The Twins are averaging .48 runs in the first frame, which is middle of the pack, but they have been much worse on the road. So far this season, they are averaging .27 runs on the road. Right-handed starter Jake Irvin makes the start for Washington. He can get hit hard when he is off, but the Twins have a high strikeout rate during the day and poor offensive production in the first inning on the road. This is set up nicely for an NRFI.
