Pittsburgh will send a lefty out themselves in Andrew Heaney who sports a 3.06 ERA across his last three starts against the Padres, Phillies and Cubs.
He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 10 of 14 starts this season with the Tigers failing to score in the first inning in 70% of home games this season.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Kansas City Royals vs Texas Rangers (-130)
We’re going to another lefty vs lefty matchup for our second NRFI play as the Royals and Rangers go at it once again in Texas.
Kris Bubic has quietly put together a nice season for the Royals so far sporting a 1.92 overall ERA and 1.48 ERA on the road.
The Royals and Rangers actually both sit top five in NRFI results this season with the Rangers specifically failing to score in the first inning in 81% of home games.
Bubic has also been stellar in the first inning this season holding opponents scoreless in 12 of 13 starts. Patrick Corbin has found new life in Texas sporting a 3.00 home ERA with the Royals sitting bottom three in slugging percentage against lefties on the season.
The Texas lefty hasn’t allowed a run in the first inning in 10 of 12 starts this season with the Royals averaging just 2.5 runs per game across their last seven. Odds for a NRFI in Royals vs Rangers sit at -130 with first pitch slated for 8:05 PM ET.
