The Nationals gave up 15 total runs to the Tigers in yesterday’s double header and Detroit could be in store for more runs today as Washington sends Jake Irvin to the mound. Irvin has allowed 19 home runs on the season which is tied for third most among all active pitchers heading into today.

Eleven of his 19 home runs have been given up to lefties, but instead of going with Riley Greene we’re going to take a shot with Colt Keith to hit his seventh home run of the season.

The second year player hasn’t been known for his power, but five of his six home runs have come on the road this season and all six against righties.

Across his last 15 days of play Keith sports a .300 batting average and .550 slugging percentage which includes a current five game hitting streak.

Irvin has allowed five home runs combined in his last two starts (9.2 IP) so let’s take him to give up another home run today to Colt Keith with odds sitting at +430. You can also consider Greene (+310) and Spencer Torkelson (+360) to hit home runs today as well.

MLB HR Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Rhys Hoskins (MIL) +520

Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins is 7-16 with three doubles and two home runs against Mets starter David Peterson as the Brewers and Mets clash once more this regular season tonight.

While Peterson has only allowed six home runs in 95.1 innings pitched this season, he has started to slip somewhat as of late allowing ten earned runs in his last two starts (8.2 IP) including two home runs.

Five of six home runs have been allowed to right handed hitting and he also allows a slugging percentage against righties that’s 82 points higher than against lefties this season.

Hoskins has been a better hitter on the road this season sporting a .273 batting average and .439 slugging percentage compared to at home hitting just .212 with a .409 slugging percentage.

He also has a .424 overall slugging percentage on the season, but in his last 15 days only his slugging percentage sits at .515.

Take Hoskins to hit a home run at +520 odds with other Brewers to consider for a home run includes Jackson Chourio (+630) and Williams Contreras (+750).
