AL Manager of the Year Prediction: Shohei Ohtani (+450)

Predicting a Manager of the Year award can be difficult, but you need to look for a manager that can exceed expectations which basically excludes the New York Yankees Aaron Boone and the Houston Astros Joe Espada to some degree as both teams are favored to win their respective divisions.

Meanwhile the Boston Red Sox are projected to finish 3rd in the AL East based on the odds after a .500 finish (81-81) in 2024 but I truly believe that they can compete for a World Series.

Their pitching rotation is as deep as any team in the American League with the additions of Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler as they already have a frontline starter in Tanner Houck.

The bullpen has been an Achilles heel in the past, but Liam Hendricks & Garrett Whitlock are healthy now and they have added Aroldis Chapman.

The addition of Alex Bregman gives Boston a much-needed right-handed bat in a lineup full of talented lefties including Rafael Devers, Jarren Duran and Triston Casas. On top of that, the Red Sox have three of the top prospects in baseball that are basically major league ready (Marcelo Mayer, Roman Antony & Kristian Campbell).

If the Red Sox are competitive early, Craig Breslow will be in a great position to make deals at the deadline and there are already rumors about a potential deal with Miami for Sandy Alcantara.
