USC’s Eric Musselman doesn’t make too many headlines, but he’s following in his rivals’ footsteps this week. USC lost six of its last seven games, and Musselman has cracked open the truth serum this week.
He criticized the Big Ten Network for how they covered his team. He criticized his players for not increasing their intensity heading into the UCLA rivalry game.
He criticized the Big Ten for the Trojans’ late-season travel schedule. Musselman has never been a particularly-good coach in tournament settings.
In five seasons at Arkansas, Musselman never made it past the second round of the SEC Tournament. The Trojans participated in a four-team event earlier this year with Saint Mary’s, New Mexico and Arizona State.
USC lost its two games by a combined score of 154-109. USC won two games outside the Western Time Zone all season: At Illinois (who was missing Kasparas Jakucionis) and at Nebraska (who didn’t qualify for the Big Ten Tournament).
The Dylan Harper plus Ace Bailey experiment in Piscataway was a flop, but the Scarlet Knights still have two NBA-caliber players on their roster. USC can’t say that.

Rutgers won the regular season meeting 95-85 in late-February as Harper and Bailey combined for 39 points and 12 assists.
