BKFC 93 Predictions

Chino Blume (-188) vs Caleb Joseph Avila (+152)

Both guys are big brawlers, but Avila leaves his chin wide open, and it’s cost him—he’s been knocked out in two of his three BKFC fights.

Blume isn’t great, but he’s shown more versatility, going the distance and winning a decision while also owning a first-round knockout. He should have enough tools to deal with a fighter like Avila, especially with how hittable Avila is. Blume is the pick.

Ernesto Suarez (-210) vs Ronny Hauser (+170)

Suarez hits like a tank, but both of his fights have ended in the first round, so his cardio is still a question. He’s muscular but moves really well, and when he connects, he does serious damage.

Hauser will stand in the pocket and trade, and he has some power of his own, but Suarez has shown really good durability, so I’m not sure Hauser can make him hesitant to throw those big shots. Suarez needs to get the early finish because Hauser has decent cardio, but I think Suarez gets it done.

Chris Garcia (-500) vs Tyler Randall (+360)

The odds tell me everything I need to know about this fight. Randall simply doesn’t look like he knows how to box at this level. His stance is awkward and off-balance, and he doesn’t do a good job setting up his strikes.

Garcia is much tighter technically, with a really good jab, quick movement, and easily enough power to hurt Randall. Garcia by KO is the pick.

James Rodriguez (+110) vs Murat Kazgan (-134)

This should be a close fight. Both guys are pretty sloppy, but they have cardio and good volume. Neither has a particularly technical boxing style, so expect plenty of exchanges and a lot of work in the pocket.

I’m leaning toward Kazgan because I like his body language and reactions better when he gets hit, and both guys are going to get hit in this fight. It probably won’t be pretty, but Kazgan is the lean.

Matt Russo (-160) vs Jancarlos Rivera (+130)

Rivera has that dog in him. He knocked out a guy 20 pounds heavier than him, he’s all action, throws with big power, and has absolutely no fear.

That aggression could cost him here because Russo is much more measured and pinpoint accurate with his body shots and jab. Russo also moves better on his feet and should look more like a polished boxer compared to Rivera’s brawling style. Russo is the pick.

Esteban Rodriguez (-270) vs Stephen Townsel (+205)

Rodriguez is violent and brings a ton of volume early. He can slow down as the fight progresses, but he’s still capable of being effective later.

Townsel wants to come forward and land the overhand right, but Rodriguez doesn’t let opponents dictate the pressure—he likes to strike first and force them backward. I think Rodriguez gets Townsel moving in the wrong direction early and eventually overwhelms him. Rodriguez by finish.

Andrew Strode (-160) vs Gee Perez (+130)

This is a rematch from last July when Strode won after the doctor stopped the fight because of a nasty cut on Perez’s ear. Strode is 4-0 in BKFC, but that first fight with Perez was competitive.

Strode has a nice counter game and impressive quickness on the outside, but he’ll also step in and swing wild, leaving opportunities to counter him. Perez had success in the first meeting, and at this price I like the revenge angle. Perez is the underdog pick at +130.

Bryan Duran (-700) vs Charles Bennett (+470)

Bennett is a journeyman who competes in boxing, bare knuckle, and MMA, but the results simply aren’t there. He has just two wins in his last 29 fights and has essentially become a fighter who gets paid to lose.

Duran is on another level technically, with quick movement, a strong defensive guard, excellent body work, and legitimate power. This is a major mismatch. Duran by finish.

BKFC 93 Main Event: Leonardo Perdomo (-1600) vs Bear Hill (+960)

This will be straight forward. Perdomo is a monster, hits like a truck, is fast, and undefeated. Hill is big and tough, but he’s slow, and won’t be able to land clean shots. Too much speed and power from Perdomo, should be another quick KO win as the line suggests.
