The 2026 MLB All-Star festivities are located in Philadelphia this season so why not go with Bryce Harper to win his second career Home Run Derby.

He won back in 2018 as a member of the Washington Nationals in Washington DC and if Harper were to win tonight he would be the first player in MLB history to win the derby twice in his home park.

No Phillies player has won the Home Run Derby since Ryan Howard in 2006 and although Kyle Schwarber is also in the field the rules for this year’s derby are different.

There is no timer and no outs this time around with each round consisting of swing counts starting with 20 in the first. Although Harper only had three hits in his last eight games leading into the break we still have confidence in him with last year’s winner Cal Raleigh only notching three hits of his own in his final eight games before the derby.

Harper does have 20 home runs already this season and has a shot to notch his sixth 30+ home run season of his career. It also helps knowing Harper has done much of his damage at the plate at home this season hitting .280 and slugging .547 at Citizens Bank Park compared to a .243 average and .453 slugging percentage in road games.

Not having to worry about fatigue from a timer this derby let’s look for the veteran Harper to lock in and win the Home Run Derby at +650 odds.

Home Run Derby Pick #2: Ben Rice (NYY) +950

If you’re looking for a hotter hitter heading into the Home Run Derby with longer odds consider Yankees first baseman Ben Rice. In July so far he’s blasted six home runs while hitting .359 and slugging .872 helping lead the Yankees to four-straight wins heading into the All-Star Break.

He hasn’t played at Citizens Bank Park since his rookie season in 2024 when he went 3-7 with a home run and during the first half this season posted a .295 batting average and .590 slugging percentage in road games.

His 29 first half home runs are second most in the AL and second most among all competitors with Kyle Schwarber’s 32 home runs being the most so it’s somewhat head scratching we get such valuable odds on Rice to win.

With Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz going on the IL Rice will likely get the start for the American League at first base in Tuesday’s All-Star Game which should boost his confidence in winning the Home Run Derby more so tonight.

With very valuable +950 odds let’s look at one of the hottest hitters leading into the break in Ben Rice to win the Home Run Derby in Philadelphia.
