MLB Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #1: Kerry Carpenter (DET) +390

After losing back-to-back games in Cleveland and getting rained out yesterday, the Tigers travel to Houston to take on the Astros. Kai-Wei Teng takes the mound for Houston allowing five of his six home runs this season at home.

Five of his six home runs allowed have come against left handed batters as we’ll look at Kerry Carpenter to hit his home run props tonight. Teng has allowed lefties to bat .258 while slugging .505 this season compared to righties allowing a .181 average and .234 slugging percentage.

The Tigers outfielder has been finding his groove since missing three weeks in May batting .290 and slugging .613 in June so far with three of his nine hits coming as home runs.

Of Teng’s seven games started he has only gone 6+ innings once but Houston’s bullpen hasn’t been great this season giving up the fifth most home runs of any bullpen unit in the MLB.

This is the Tigers first trip to Minute Maid Park this season with Carpenter hitting two home runs in 13 at-bats last season there and it’s worth noting that Carpenter is slugging .606 over his last 30 games.

Take Carpenter to hit a home run at +390 with other lefty bats to take advantage of in the Tigers lineup to hit their home run prop includes Riley Greene (+420) and Kevin McGonigle (+570).

MLB Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Zach Neto (LAA) +470

Ryne Nelson is tied for the fourth most home runs given up this season as he gets the start at home tonight taking on the Angels. Sure, the Angels aren’t that great this season but they have an opportunity to get the bats going against Nelson who has given up six combined home runs across his last three starts.

With that, we’ll look at Zach Neto to hit his home run props tonight who has three home runs this month and has a home run off Nelson already in his career in three at-bats.

Nelson has given up seven of his 17 home runs at home and eight home runs in the last 30 days and Neto hitting ten of his 13 home runs off right handed pitchers this season.

In their head-to-head series last season Neto went 5-12 with a home run and is batting .245 on the road this season compared to a .200 batting average at home.

The Angels shortstop has belted 23+ home runs in each of the past two seasons and is on track to match that number this season given he’s healthy.

Given the favorable matchup and the Angels heading back out on the road where Neto has been a better hitter, let’s take him at +470 odds to hit a home run tonight. If you’re looking for more home run props in this game consider Mike Trout (+350) or Jo Adell (+390) as well.
