Brent Rooker dealt with injuries in the early season, but he’s started to come into form with 2+ HRR in 3 of his last 5 games while landing on one exactly in the other two games.

Those three starts included 8 home runs allowed and that sets up for a disaster tonight based on the conditions and the power of Athletics bats like Rooker, Kurtz, Langeliers and Soderstrom. Since May 1st, the Athletics rank 5th in home runs and 9th in both wRC+ & ISO against left-handed pitching.

The Cubs bullpen was great early in the season, but they haven’t been as effective recently after some injuries and they are a bit taxed after using 7 arms yesterday and Hoby Milner & Daniel Palencia has both pitched in back-to-back games. Rooker is 2-3 with a home run against Imanaga and it will only take one swing to beat this line.
