NBA Player Props Best Bet #1: Ausar Thompson (DET) Over 10.5 Rebounds + Assists (-112)

Let’s face it, the Pistons wouldn’t be where they are now in the playoffs if it wasn’t for the all around play of Ausar Thompson as we’ll take over 10.5 rebounds + assists for his NBA player prop in Game 2 against the Cavaliers on Thursday night.

He was the x-factor in their 3-1 series comeback against the Magic and has averaged 14.5 rebounds + assists across Detroit’s last four games which have all resulted in wins.

He averaged just 8.8 rebounds + assists during the regular season, but we’ve seen Thompson be a ball handler much more in the post season and he’s been more active in the paint with center Jalen Duren doing his part in boxing out the opposing teams center en route to a Thompson rebound.

In the two most recent regular season meetings against Cleveland Thompson averaged 12.5 rebounds + assists with the Cavaliers having trouble being able to frustrate Thompson as a ball handler and keeping him off the glass.

Thompson averaged 13.6 rebounds + assists per 40 minutes during the regular season and is averaging around 33 minutes per game in the playoffs so let’s take his NBA player prop over 10.5 rebounds + assists tonight as the Pistons look to go up 2-0 in the series.

NBA Player Props Best Bet #2: DeAndre Ayton (LAL) Over 8.5 Rebounds (-130)

Although the Lakers ended up taking the loss in Game 1 against the Thunder DeAndre Ayton was still a force in the rebounding department racking up 12 of them.

We’ll take his NBA player prop over 8.5 rebounds in Game 2 with Ayton now hitting double digit rebounds in four straight games.

He has averaged 11 rebounds per game in the post season which leads the team with the next top rebounder being LeBron James at 6.7 per game.

He has played 30 minutes per game in the post season which is a slight uptick from the regular season and it’s also worth noting that big man Jared Vanderbilt is doubtful for this game which could mean a few additional minutes for Ayton on the floor tonight as well.

His +/- rating of -4 actually was the best among all Lakers players that saw at least 10 minutes in Game 1 so we know he’s not in danger of losing minutes to Jaxson Hayes who had a -12 rating in just 16 minutes.

After hauling in over 25% of the Lakers’ total rebounds in Game 1 let’s take Ayton to be a force on the glass for LA again tonight taking his NBA player prop over 8.5 rebounds in Game 2.
