NBA Props Picks for Wednesday: Karl-Anthony Towns New York Knicks OVER 18.5 Points (-114)

Karl-Anthony Towns fell short of this line in Game 1 with only 17 points mostly due to him playing only 20 minutes in a 39-point blowout.

It’s also noteworthy that Towns didn’t make a single trip to the charity stripe and he averages 5.5 free throws per game.

The Philadelphia 76ers are in a bit of a catch-22 as defending KAT with Joel Embiid opens up the three-ball and he can expose either Kelly Oubre Jr or Paul George down low with his size.

Jalen Brunson just torched the Sixers for 35 points, so he’ll be a defensive priority for Nick Nurse and company. KAT scored 21+ points in 3/4 regular season games against Philadelphia, and he only fell short with a 10-point effort due to playing only 16 minutes after an injury.

The spread is -7.5 tonight and the Sixers should keep the score a bit closer while leaving Towns with enough court time to clear this line. 

NBA Props Picks for Wednesday: Naz Reid Minnesota Timberwolves OVER 6.5 Rebounds (+102)

We cashed this play with the number set at 5.5 in Game 1 as Naz Reid logged 9 rebounds across 30 minutes of play.

We were spot on about Rudy Gobert seeing limited minutes as he doesn’t have the ability to pull Victor Wembanyama from the paint.

In the earlier matchup with Gobert on the court, Reid usually guarded the corner and when Gobert was off the floor the Wolves decided to defend Wemby with Julius Randle.

That left Reid free to roam and collect additional rebounds. Reid also logged 11 rebounds on 18 rebound chances across 32 minutes in his lone head-to-head game with Wembanyama on the floor during the regular season.

Naz cleared this line in 5/6 games in the prior series against the Denver Nuggets while averaging 7 rebounds on 10.5 rebound chances per game. 

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been decimated by injuries including Donte DiVincenzo dealing suffering a torn ACL and Anthony Edwards dealing with a bone bruise.

I see Reid being more valuable than Gobert in this series and this is a reasonable number that he’s cleared in 64% of his games while averaging 6.3 rebounds per game.
