This is a quick revenge spot for Philadelphia, as these two teams just faced each other two weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. Since 2006, the Eagles are 16–5 straight up against the Giants in Philadelphia, but New York has quietly held their own against the spread, going 12–8 in those matchups. I really want to back Philly in this revenge game, but I just can’t bring myself to lay 7.5 points — although I’ll admit, the Eagles will likely end up in a teaser or two for me. In today’s NFL, if you can’t run the ball, it’s tough to win. That’s a concern for Philadelphia, as they’ve rushed for just 45, 73, and 45 yards in their last three games. That kind of imbalance makes them too one-dimensional. Instead of taking a side, I’m shifting my focus to the total. I expect Philadelphia to be better prepared this time after seeing the Giants’ new-look offense — remember, they had only two games of film the first time they met. This is also the highest total set in the last six meetings between these teams. Philly has scored 28 points or fewer in five of their seven games, and one of those higher-scoring outings only got there because they blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown on the final play. The Under has been the stronger trend historically — it’s 14–7 in games played in Philadelphia between these two since 2006.
