MLB | (973) Chicago White Sox at (974) Kansas City Royals | 8:10pm EDT - Aug 10/2022 |
The PLAY: 1H Total Under 4.5 (-105) J Cueto (RHP), K Bubic (LHP) Must Start
The low side prevailed rather easily in both ends of Tuesday's day-night doubleheader between the White Sox and Royals. The expectation here is that runs will again be hard to come by early as Johnny Cueto duels with Kris Bubic at Kauffman Stadium. Cueto hasn't surrendered more than three earned runs in a start since May 28 and has compiled a 2.91 ERA because he's held teams to three or fewer earned runs in 14 of 15 appearances. He made his 2022 debut in Kansas City and blanked the Royals on two hits over six innings in a sign of things to come. Counterpart Kris Bubic has allowed three or fewer earned runs in seven straight outings and has dominated Jose Abreu (2-for-16), Eloy Jimenez (0-for-14), Yoan Moncada (0-for-10) and Luis Robert (0-for-7). With Chicago catalyst Tim Anderson sidelined, Bubic should be successful as well. We'll look to move our MLB free play to 6-1 with the White Sox-Royals first-five under of 4.5.

CFB | (303) Nevada at (304) New Mexico State | 2:00pm EDT - Aug 27/2022 |
The PLAY: Nevada -10.0 (-110)
New Mexico State will play two games before most schools at the FBS level debut since it opens play at home on Aug. 27 prior to a Thursday night date at Minnesota on Sept. 1. That matchup with the Gophers figures to be the Aggies' Super Bowl since new head coach Jerry Kill served as the team's head coach from 2011-15 before health issues forced him to step down. This NMSU gig will be his first full-time head coaching gig since working at Minnesota but appears to be a complete rebuild since predecessor Doug Martin went 25-74 at NMSU and had only one bowl appearance over nine seasons. Everything is up in the air for the Aggies, and while Nevada is also working under a new head coach in Ken Wilson, key cogs like RBs Toa Taua and Devonte Lee return. Oklahoma State QB Shane Illingworth should replace record-setting QB Carson Strong for the Wolf Pack and the talent gap here should help deliver a win in Las Cruces. Kill will have to shuffle in backups given that his team plays their second game on a short week, increasing the likelihood that will see a sloppy effort and decreasing the chances of a backdoor cover. Lay the 10-spot with Nevada.

NFL | (455) New Orleans Saints at (456) Atlanta Falcons | 1:00pm EDT - Sep 11/2022 |
The PLAY: Total Under 41.0 (-110)
It isn't easy to isolate an NFL regular-season Week 1 play before teams even suit up to square off in the preseason for the first time, but this NFC South showdown looks like a solid option. Jameis Winston hopes to reclaim his role as QB-1 in New Orleans after tearing his ACL and MCL last Halloween and is well on his way, but with Dennis Allen replacing Sean Payton as head coach and the team's top personnel serving on the defensive side of the ball, we should see the Saints' identity change. Not turning the football over will be Winston's priority, which could lead to a conservative approach early in the season. With Matt Ryan gone and either Marcus Mariota or rookie Desmond Ridder taking over, an emphasis on the ground attack and short passing game is likely in Atlanta. Veteran defensive coordinator Dean Pees has already issued the mandate that the team must dominate on that side of the ball, so points could be hard to come by at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sept. 11. Ride the under.

A leading handicapper in the industry, Mejia has handicapped most major sports and events and got his start by opening his career as a writer at SportsLine.com, which was then bought by CBS. Mejia handicapped under a pseudonym due to compliance issues but also created Mejia’s Selections, a popular feature projecting scores for most major sports. He landed the national NBA beat for CBS SportsLine from 2005-09, so Mejia took a break from handicapping to handle stories and analysis with more of an emphasis on writing. He moved on to Pro Basketball News as a writer/publisher before taking on more of a full-time role at VegasInsider, providing written analysis and winning multiple titles over the course of the season in NFL, NBA, college football, college basketball, and soccer. The “Antony Dinero” brand is owned and trademarked by Mejia after becoming a consistent winner and top-seller. Mejia writes a weekly column at Gaming Today, a staple in Las Vegas sports betting consulting for decades. He utilizes a combination of making his own lines to open the week, seeking discrepancies, tracking weather, injuries, and line movements to try and secure every advantage before getting in on a ticket. He believes watching is the key to it all, so odds are he’s watching a sport if it’s on regardless of whether it’s the Super Bowl or a mid-week college hoops matchup between Quinnipiac and Iona. Mejia was born in Queens, New York, and roots only for the Yankees, Colombia’s soccer team, and the UCF Knights since he attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando. They won a national championship once, whether you believe it or not. Ride Mejia to make some dinero because he’s always hustling to seek out an edge.
