THE PLAY: Houston Rockets OVER 48.5 Wins (-105)
NBA FUTURES: HOUSTON ROCKETS OVER 48.5 WINS (-105)
The Rockets have won 52 games in each of the last two seasons, including a 52-30 finish last year despite playing the entire season without starting point guard Fred VanVleet, who suffered a torn ACL shortly before training camp.
VanVleet is back for 2026-27, and I believe his return is significant for a Houston team that finished just 21st in offensive turnover rate last season. The veteran point guard gives the Rockets an experienced floor general alongside a talented core that includes Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, and Jabari Smith Jr.
Sengun is coming off his second consecutive All-Star appearance, while the 23-year-old Thompson is coming off a breakout season and remains one of the league's premier young defenders. Houston also gets Steven Adams back after the veteran big man suffered a season-ending ankle injury in January.
Rebounding remains a major strength. Houston has led the NBA in rebounding percentage in consecutive seasons, and its 54.5% mark last year was the best by any team in the 30 years of play-by-play data. The Rockets also finished sixth in defensive rating.
Most importantly, Houston doesn't need to match last year's 52-win season for this wager to cash. The Rockets can take a three-win step backward, finish 49-33, and still get us to the window.
With VanVleet and Adams returning to a team that has already won 52 games in back-to-back seasons, I see value in Houston clearing this number.
BET: HOUSTON ROCKETS OVER 48.5 WINS (-105)
THE PLAY: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Receiving Yards Over 92.5 (-114)
JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA OVER 92.5 RECEIVING YARDS
Smith-Njigba leads the NFL with 583 receiving yards through five games, averaging 116.6 yards per game while commanding 50 targets. He has topped tonight's 92.5-yard mark in 4 of 5 games, posting 122, 155, 128, 76 and 102 receiving yards. The matchup gets even more appealing with Denver missing two major pieces of its secondary, as All-Pro CB Pat Surtain II and S Talanoa Hufanga have both been ruled out, while CB Riley Moss is questionable with a rib injury. Smith-Njigba already has 9 receptions of 20+ yards and owns 50 of Seattle's 142 WR/TE targets, giving him the combination of elite volume and big-play ability to clear this number. With Smith-Njigba cleared to play and Denver entering severely compromised in the secondary, back JSN OVER 92.5 RECEIVING YARDS.

Consultant Bio
Dwayne Bryant was introduced to betting by his godfather at age 13, starting at Penn National Race Course before expanding into NFL, college football, NBA, NCAA basketball, and MLB. During the 2009–10 season, he produced one of the most remarkable documented streaks on record — a 20-game football win streak across NFL and college.
Dwayne is a situational handicapper whose approach is rooted in angle-driven analysis and historical tendencies. He focuses primarily on sides in the NFL, college football, and NBA, and specializes in totals in college basketball. Beginning in 2024, Dwayne expanded his MLB process to incorporate SDQL-based situational angles as part of his handicapping toolbox.
DB’s volume is determined strictly by the number of qualifying situations on any given card. He passes when the board offers nothing strong, and fires when the data supports a legitimate edge. His goal is a consistent, disciplined, repeatable process — not action for the sake of action.
