The Red Sox are off a huge sweep of the rival Yankees that just wrapped up yesterday at Fenway Park. It is a long way from Boston to Seattle so the schedule-makers did not do the Red Sox any favors with this scheduling set-up. Indeed the Red Sox body clocks likely will not even of had time to adjust for this game which won't finishing until probably midnight ET. Couple that with jet lag and being flat off the sweep of the Yankees and the Red Sox very likely to struggle here. The Mariners Gilbert has a 2.10 ERA at home and opponents hitting just .124 against him in his 5 home starts this season. He also has been a strikeout machine this season. Boston's Giolito is off a quality start versus the Angels but had allowed at least 6 earned runs (!) in 3 of 6 starts prior to that.
