THE PLAY: Washington Mystics +4.0 (-110)
The Atlanta Dream have struggled as road favorites this season, going 0-2 both straight up and against the spread while surrendering 87.4 points per game away from home. Their inability to force turnovers leaves opponents with extra possessions, and with a look-ahead spot looming against the Liberty in two days, Atlanta’s focus and defensive intensity may wane.
In contrast, the Washington Mystics are a stalwart 4-1 ATS at home and come into this matchup exceptionally well-rested after six days off. Offensively, Washington thrives at home and in getting to the free-throw line—the best in the league—where Brittney Sykes and company can leverage extra chances to build leads. While the Mystics do turn the ball over at a high rate, they face a Dream defense that ranks dead last in turnover creation, neutralizing one of their chief liabilities.
Adding to the value, the Mystics pulled off an outright 94-90 upset as eight-point underdogs in the season opener against these same Dream. At home, Washington limits opponents to just 81 points per game (4-1 to opponents’ team total under) despite playing at the league’s fastest pace. With Atlanta’s road woes and Washington’s home-court edge, the Mystics +4.5 stands out as the sharp play.
