(923) New York Yankees at (924) Washington Nationals: Spread
6:45pm EDT - Jul 10/2026

THE PLAY: Washington Nationals +1.5 (-114) Ryan Weathers (LHP) Must Start

When the Rays' Junior Caminero homered (11th time in last 14 games) in the first inning yesterday, most assumed the Yankees were well on their way to another loss at Tropicana Field. Especially with it being a bullpen game. But then something strange happened. The Yanks' bats woke up in a major way, against Drew Rasmussen no less, leading to a 12-4 win. It was just the third win in the last 14 games for the Yankees, who scored more than five runs for the first time in 20 games. Rasmussen had a career ERA of 0.89 against NY before allowing six runs in 2 1/3 innings yesterday.

But I don't like the situation the Yankees are in Friday as they head to our Nation's Capital. Nor do I like the price as they are a pretty big road favorite with Ryan Weathers starting. This opens up a golden opportunity for us, to take the rested Nationals +1.5 on the run line.

Washington is the highest scoring team in all of MLB this season, averaging 5.4 runs per game. So getting a +1.5 head start seems like a nice luxury to have. I know the combo of Carson Palmquist opening and Zack Littell coming on for bulk relief does not inspire a ton of confidence here. But Littell has allowed 2 ER or less each of his L3 appearances. For NY, Weathers has allowed 4+ runs in five of his last seven starts. After an off-day, with their high-powered offense, the Nats should do no worse than keeping this to a 1-run game.

Lamine Yamal Props
3:00pm EDT - Jul 10/2026

THE PLAY: Lamine Yamal Anytime Goalscorer (+145)

Spain remains undefeated at this year's World Cup with zero goals conceded. Their only blemish was the shocking 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in the Group Stage opener. Since then, La Roja have beaten Saudi Arabia (4-0), Uruguay (1-0), Austria (3-0) and Portugal (1-0). They certainly "left it late" against Portugal, getting the game-winner in stoppage time, off the foot of substitute Mikel Merino.

While they continue to dominate possession and have faced the fewest number of shots so far in this WC, my gut is telling me Spain's run of clean sheets might come to an end today, facing a Belgium side that comes in averaging 2.23 xG per match. Don't get me wrong. Spain is a deserved favorite here and should advance. Belgium needed a miracle comeback against Senegal before routing the United States 4-1. It was also a pretty underwhelming group stage effort from the so-called "Golden Generation." I'm very interested to see what the starting XI will look like for Rudi Garcia here.

But I think the best betting market to attack for Friday's quarterfinal is Lamine Yamal to score a goal. I realize the 18-year old has found the back of the net only one time so far at this WC. But, because of a hamstring injury suffered in April, he's only played in 225 out of a possible 450+ minutes for Luis de la Fuente in this tournament. Yamal was on the pitch the entire time against Portugal though, and that is going to be the case again here as he's gets closer to being fully fit. I think that leads to him finding the back of the net. We're talking about one of the best players in the World. It's only a matter of time before Yamal makes an impact.
