(509) New York Knicks at (510) Indiana Pacers
May 12, 2024 3PM EDT
Play Rating:
1% – Indiana Pacers -5.5 (-110)

Indiana overcame an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter of Game 3 to land a 111-106 victory on Friday night. The Knicks ran out of gas down the stretch, but they still maintain a 2-1 lead in the series after winning the first two games at Madison Square Garden. The Pacers defense finally stepped up, holding the Knicks to 16 points in the fourth quarter. After being out-rebounded convincingly in the first two games Indiana maintained a slight advantage on the glass (42-41). The Pacers have not been shy about their gameplan: Wear the Knicks out. New York won the first two games of this series, but Indiana was confident that the body blows that they landed in Games 1 and 2 would come back to pay dividends later in the series. Game 3 certainly played out like they were envisioning. Two of New York's best defenders, OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson, will both be out for this one. Jalen Brunson had to leave the Game 2 win with a foot injury, but was able to return. The Knicks' already-thin roster is going to be put to the test against a Pacers' team that plays at one of the fastest tempos in the league. New York was fortunate to hang around in Game 3 thanks to a 35-point effort from Donte DiVincenzo, but it's difficult to envision another huge game like that from the veteran guard. The body blows that Indiana landed while taking losses in Games 1 and 2 will continue to pay dividends as this series carries on.
