We're taking the Pittsburgh Pirates to win outright at home on Saturday against the Colorado Rockies.

It's been five straight defeats for the Pittsburgh Pirates heading into Saturday's Game 2 series matchup against the Colorado Rockies, but this is a situation we've traditionally feasted on in the past, when superior teams who dropped Game 1 play a team that vastly over-achieved in their last start.

That was certainly the case with the Colorado Rockies on Friday who finally held onto an opening lead for the first time all season, along with averaging 50% more total hits and 25% more totals bases than their season averages as well.

The Pirates are in a funk right now no question, but this afternoon they send Californian Jared Jones to the mound who ranks top 15 in strikeouts this season, along with top ten in WHIP also at just 0.91 on average.

That goes up against Austin Gomber in this one who ranks 61st in the league in WHIP this season, averaging 1.34, and who owns a 6.30 ERA on the road this season as well.

Those pitching difficulties extend to Colorado's bullpen also which has by far the worst WHIP out of any team in the league this season at 1.59 on average. Only Kansas City has recorded fewer strikeouts as well, so the Pirates will have no better opportunity to bounceback offensively than they do going up against Austin Gomber and this Rockies bullpen on Saturday.

Colorado have won just 25 of their last 98 MLB road games across the last two seasons (25.5%), so it's fair to say that yesterday evening's victory was a rare occurence for them, and one we don't see them repeating this afternoon over in PNC Park.
