Swansea vs Reading Betting Analysis
Big mid-table clash over in the English Championship this week as Swansea City travel over to the Select Car Leasing Stadium to take on Reading on Tuesday.
Both teams sit equal on points in 11th and 12th spots respectively this season, but after enjoying some early season successes, both teams have struggled immensely over the last few months.
Swansea went on a heater during September and October winning six of seven games, but are currently on a seven-game winless run right now that has seen them plummet out of the playoff spots in the Championship table.
Reading similarly enjoyed success across August and September themselves, winning six of eight games, but they too have since fallen off from the playoff standings, winning just three of their last twelve league games in all.
Both sides have been extremely competitive over recent head-to-head meetings, with Swansea winning one, Reading winning one, and three draws also over their last five league meetings.
Swansea Still Showing Plenty Of Collective Fight
Despite their downturn in fortunes over the last two months, no one can question Swansea’s work ethic and team spirit in games as they fought back from 3-0 down against Coventry last time out to grab a much-needed draw.
If it wasn’t for poor starts this season, Swansea would be in a much higher position in the table as well, with 11 points gained from conceding first this year against opponents, a league-best return.
Reading Look For Home Form To Get Them Over The Line
Ranking 22nd in the league in overall road form this season, it’s no wonder Paul Ince’s men will be happy to return home to Reading to take on Swansea this Tuesday.
That’s because the Royals own the league’s 4th best home form this year, with 22 points banked from their opening 11 games, and winning every game where they’ve netted first in at home this season as well.
Swansea vs Reading Prediction
Swansea have definitely owned Reading’s number over the last few seasons in head-to-head meetings, with Reading recording just one victory against Swansea across their last 16 league meetings in all.
However, Swansea have also shown a real inability to win of late, losing or drawing all of their previous six games on the road, so it’s a big ask for them to just snap that and return to winning ways against a solid Reading side here on Tuesday.
Because of that, we’re taking a piece of the outright draw in this one at +230 as with both teams struggling to notch victories of late, we wouldn’t be surprised to see both teams record yet another stalemate on Tuesday over in the English Championship in what’s expected to be a close game.
