RB Leipzig vs Bayer Leverkusen Betting Analysis

RB Leipzig secured an excellent 3-2 home victory over last season’s Champions League winners Real Madrid on Tuesday night, while Bayer Leverkusen escaped with a draw against Atletico Madrid in Spain on Wednesday. That Leverkusen vs Atletico matchup  featured one of the most dramatic Champions League finishes in recent memory with Atletico missing a late penalty in stoppage time.

Leipzig will hold a pretty significant rest advantage as they played 24 hours earlier at home while Bayer Leverkusen had to travel home from Spain. This will likely be a tough spot for ‘Die Werkself’ this weekend, considering they have registered just one win away from home all year.

Bayer Leverkusen does have a solid track record in Red Bull Arena over recent seasons, however, going unbeaten across three of their last five games in this venue, including winning the last matchup 3-1 here last November.

Defense Remains A Major Issue For Bayer Leverkusen

With an average of 2.4 goals allowed per game to opponents on the road this season, only two teams have a worse overall goals-against record this year away from home than Leverkusen.

The data backs those numbers up as well. ‘Die Werkself’ owns the league’s second-highest defensive xGA rating away from home this season, with only relegation club Bochum doing worse overall than Leverkusen. With the North-West club giving up nine goals across just their last two Bundesliga road starts as well, it could be a long afternoon for Leverkusen in this one.

Leipzig’s Form Domestically Hasn’t Been Pretty

RB Leipzig is off to their worst start to a Bundesliga campaign since the club was first formed, and manager Marco Rose will be keen to turn things around here on Saturday.

Despite their overall poor start to the season so far, RB Leipzig could get themselves back into the top-six mix with a victory here on Saturday, and with them boasting the league’s best overall home form this year winning four-straight games inside Red Bull Arena heading into this weekend’s matchup, another win wouldn’t come as a surprise in this one either.

RB Leipzig vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

RB Leipzig’s struggles in the Bundesliga this season have all come on the road, with the club remaining as one of only five teams in the league yet to win a game away from home this year.

However, at home, it’s been a very different story for the Bulls, as they’ve not only won four straight games there over recent starts, but also blown past their opposition in those games by a massive 12-2 margin as well.

We’re taking RB Leipzig -0.75 on the Asian Handicap this weekend to win and cover at home against Bayer Leverkusen in what should be a fairly comfortable victory for the home side in this one on Saturday over in the German Bundesliga.
