New Orleans Saints vs Baltimore Ravens Analysis

The Baltimore Ravens travel to New Orleans to meet the Saints for a Monday night party at the Superdome. The Saints are coming off a 24-0 shutout victory at home against the Los Vegas Raiders.

The Ravens won on Thursday Night Football 27-22 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Baltimore owns a 5-2 edge over New Orleans in the all-time regular season series between these teams. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 PM EST/5:15 PST on ESPN.

Ravens Run AFC North

The Baltimore Ravens improved to 5-3 on the season with a victory over the Tampa Buccaneers to give them a one game lead over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North. Lamar Jackson threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 43 yards on 9 carries.

Rookie tight end Isaiah Likely was his favorite target as he caught 6 passes for 77 yards. Gus Edwards was the teams leading rusher with 11 carries for 65 yards. The Ravens will be without the services of two of Jacksons top targets in tight end Mark Andrews (ankle/shoulder) and wide receiver Rashod Bateman who is now out for the season with foot surgery.

Baltimore ranks 5th in the league in scoring offense with over 26 points per contest. Their offensive attack relies heavily on their ground game that ranks 5th with 165.6 points a game.

However the passing game has been anemic with only 193.8 passing yards a game and ranking 26th. Defense is usually their calling card but they rank only 20th with 22.6 points allowed per game.

Saints Searching For Back-To-Back Wins

The New Orleans Saints are coming off their best win of the season as they shutout the Vegas Raiders 24-0. The Saints dominated the time of possession 35 to 25 minutes. Andy Dalton had an accurate passing day, throwing for 229 yards and two touchdowns on 22 of 30 passing.

Alvin led New Orleans in both rushing & receiving with 18 carries for 62 yards and 9 receptions for 96 yards with three all-purpose touchdowns. At 3-5, the Saints are still only one game behind in the pathetic NFC North. Wide receiver Michael Thomas and cornerback Marshon Lattimore are both out for this contest and wide receiver Jarvis Landry is listed as questionable.

The Saints rank 8th across the board offensively with 24.9 points, 253.1 passing yards and 141.3 rushing yards per game. They are challenged defensively as they rank 28th with 25 points allowed per game.

New Orleans Saints vs Baltimore Ravens Prop Prediction

The Baltimore Ravens enter this contest as 2 point road favorites with a total of 47. Both of these defenses have had significant issues slowing down the competition this season. It’s going to be interesting to see which direction Lamar Jackson looks with Andrews and Bateman.

We know Jackson loves his tight ends and so we look to the next man up. I was impressed watching Isaiah Likely in the pre-season and hoped he would get his shot at some point this season. Last week that time came and Likely took advantage with 6 catches for 77 yards.

The Saints are actually top three against tight ends but Likelys receiving total is only 40.5. Jacksons passing total is set at 210.5 and the only Baltimore receivers listed for props are Devin Duvernay, Josh Oliver and Kenyan Drake.

This leaves plenty of room for Likely and the Saints have to go somewhere. With the total being set so low, we will Likely cash this ticket.

Prediction: Isaiah Likely Over 40.5 Receiving Yards -115 Draftkings
