Utah Jazz vs Phoenix Suns Analysis
The Phoenix Suns head to Utah for a Western Conference clash with the Jazz on the second leg of an NBATV doubleheader.
The Jazz come into this game hot on the heels of a 137-101 blowout win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Suns were on the other side of the spectrum, losing 113-109 to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Phoenix will be looking to split the four game regular season series after Utah won two of the first three head-to-head meetings.
Suns Recharging For Post-Season Run
The Phoenix Suns have the one seed, giving them homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs. They have taken full advantage by resting key players down the stretch to get them healthy for the second season.
In their latest loss to the Clippers, Chris Paul, Devin Booker and DeAndre Ayton all sat to heal minor injuries. We should be monitoring their statuses for this game as well.
Ish Wainright paced the Suns scorers with 25 points. The Suns earned the top seed by ranking near the top of the league on both sides of the ball.
On the season, they rank 5th in scoring and 9th in scoring defense. After this game the Suns will be closing out their regular season at home against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday evening.
Jazz Hope To Take Next Step In Playoffs
The Utah Jazz have has a solid season overall and have a shot at 50 win season. However they will no longer be judged on their regular season results.
They have to take the next step in the post-season. Utah occupies the fifth seed in the Western Conference only a half game ahead of the Denver Nuggets.
Bojan Bogdanovic led the Jazz in scoring with 27 points in their latest victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Jazz have no players of note listed on their injury report. Like Phoenix, the Jazz are a top ten team in both offensive and defensive scoring. They rank 7th in scoring based on successfully firing three-pointers left and right.
They shoot 47% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc as a team. The Jazz will wrap up their season on Sunday night in Portland against the Trailblazers.

The Utah Jazz are 2.5 point favorites and the total is set at 228. It’s going to be difficult to gage motivation as the Suns have homecourt wrapped up and the Jazz have all but secured a guaranteed playoff spot.
The Suns have already shown that they will bench starters and could do that again tonight. Donovan Mitchell should return tonight to a Jazz team that has struggled recently with a 1-7-1 ATS record in their last nine games.
The Suns amazing shooting should be able to pick apart Utahs weak perimeter defense. I’m going to lean on the Suns and take a shot with a plus price money line, instead of the minimal points.
