Timberwolves vs Warriors Analysis

The Golden State Warriors will travel to the Target Center on Tuesday evening for a Western Conference showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The T-Wolves will be playing the second game of a back-to-back after handling business at home 127-122 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors are coming off a heartbreaking loss, as they blew a huge 4th quarter lead in a loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Minnesota will be looking to even things up with the Warriors winning two of the first three head-to-head matchups.

Timberwolves vs Warriors Team Totals

This game has opened as a virtual pick’em with a total of 233, so both team totals are set at 116.5. The Warriors won both their home games against the Timberwolves 123-110 and 124-115. The Timberwolves prevailed in their first home game against Golden State 119-99.

The T-Wolves rank third in pace of play, 6th with 113.3 points scored a game and 23rd with over 112 points allowed to their rivals. The Warriors favor defense as they rank third in points allowed with only 103.6, tenth in points scored and 16th in pace of play.

It seems like these teams totals are razor sharp and could really go either way. Minnesota is on the second game of a back but it shouldn’t effect them as much being a young team. Klay Thompson is out for this game on top of Draymond Green, so the Warriors are missing two key defenders. The T-Wolves may play even less defense on a back-to-back and will likely attempt to win the game with their scoring and fast-pace.

Recommendation: Minnesota Timberwolves’ Team Total Over 116.5 Points

Timberwolves vs Warriors Player Props

D’Angelo Russell and Andrew Wiggins will both be playing against their former squads as they were traded in February of 2020. Wiggins loves to step up his game against former teams, while Russell has severely underperformed in all three meetings with the Warriors this season.

The Warriors will have some extra points available due to Klay Thompson being out for tonight’s contest. An obvious spot to look would be Steph Curry. His point total is set at 26.5, which isn’t a bad towards to over. He scored 29 & 25 in his two games against Minnesota this season.

However I prefer Andrew Wiggins over 17.5 points. We have the revenge angle and he has scored 19, 12 and 35 against the Twolves this season. The Timberwolves allow the third-most points to opposing small fowards with 22.8 points per game. They could also have some defensive lapses as they play the second game of a away/home back-to-back.

Recommendation: Andrew Wiggins Over 17.5 Points

Timberwolves vs Warriors Same-Game Parlay

  • Andrew Wiggins OVER 13.5 Points
  • Steph Curry OVER 24.5 Points
  • Karl Anthony-Towns OVER 7.5 Rebounds
    +160 Odds

We have had success going with a three-leg parlay that includes a lowered version of my favorite prop as we did cash yesterday’s same game parlay. So we will start with Wiggins over 13.5 points.

We mentioned Curry scoring 29 & 25 against the Timberwolves. We will add Curry over 24.5 points to the mix. While it is dangerous to take teammates to both score over in the same category, I don’t think 40 combined points between these two is too much to ask without Thompson on the floor. Another factor is the Timberwolves lack of defense, especially on a back-to-back.

Karl Anthony-Towns has been consistent with his rebounding against the Warriors, collecting 11, 11 and 12 rebounds in three head-to-head meetings. The Warriors lack options at the five and none of them are going to pull Anthony-Towns from the paint when he is on defense. Our third leg will be Karl Anthony-Towns over 7.5 rebounds. Put all three together for a juicy +160 price.
