Golden State Warriors vs Miami Heat Analysis

The rest of the league might be taking notice that the Warriors are getting healthy and tonight they will be starting Steph, Draymond and Wiggins with Poole coming off the bench, and those are the pieces that lead them to their incredible start to the season and being considered the best team in the league.

Miami is getting healthier as Butler is back along with Herro and Lowry, but they’re still without Bam, Robinson and Tucker. Golden State is an 11-favorite and the total is 215.5 tonight, let’s dive in and find the best wager in this one.

Golden State has won seven out of nine games which is a very solid run considering the skeleton lineups they’ve had to play with, but it goes to show the depth this team has. They’re coming off a seven point win at Utah against the red hot Jazz, and they did it with no Draymond. Curry was amazing, and Wiggin and Otto Porter pitched in huge games so if they can go into Utah and win big it doesn’t bode will for the rest of the league.

Golden State is 4-1 ATS their last five games, but their lineups have looked nothing like tonights lineup. I don’t know how Draymond will look, but I expect him to slide into the starting lineup and not miss a beat, and the rest of Golden State is well rested as they’ve only played one game since December 29th.

Miami has had a different starting lineup every game for a month it feels like, yet they’ve won seven out of nine games, but unfortunately they lost last night to Sacramento and have to turn around and play a double header against one of the two best teams in the league when healthy.

As good as their record has been recently, it must be noted they beat Houston, Washington, Orlando and Detroit all in a row so it was a great time to have shuffling lineups for them. Even with Butler in the lineup, their defense hasn’t been great as Bam’s absence takes away so much defense inside.

The last three Miami games have been score-fests ending at 228, 230, and 231. In fact, Miami has the most overs this season going 22-15 O/U and they’re 4-1 their last 5. Add to that they’re 7-3 on the road in their last 10 to the over, and with Draymond returning it sets up well for Golden State to score, but the Heat can put up points as well as they’ve scored 113 or more in five out of six. I expect more offense tonight, so I’ll be on the over.

Golden State Warriors vs Miami Heat Preview from GoldSheet

Miami is coming off a 115-113 loss last night in Sacramento, a short hop from the Chase Center for this East-West collision of “A” teams. Have to believe Jimmy Butler’s Heat will have a sour taste in their mouths after outrebounding the Kings 49-39 and committing 7 fewer turnovers than Sacto, yet still coming ups short due to Sacramento shooting 51% to the Heat’s 44%.

Interestingly over the previous 10 games before last night, the Heat had a better record (8-2 SU) than Golden State and also rated 3rd in the net rating department in that segment (Warriors were 7-3 and ranked 10th). Both teams have personnel issues, with Miami C Bam Adebayo hoping for a return later in the month from thumb surgery, PF Markieff Morris still down with the neck issue and Fs Duncan Robinson and PJ Tucker both not quite ready due to Covid issues.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have been without PF Draymond Green the last few games and are awaiting the late-January return/debut of Klay Thompson (has anyone not seen him drain those 24 straight 3-pointers in practice) and C James Wiseman later this month. Warriors are human. Steve Kerr’s bunch has a 3-3 spread mark last 6 at home, even losing 2 of those straight-up.
