76ers vs Heat Analysis
Embiid has gone from being ruled out to now being questionable and it looks like he’s trending in the right direction of playing.
He’ll be wearing a facemask, and obviously we won’t know how effective he’ll be tonight. The books have the line at Miami -1.5 with a total of 210, and we’ll take a look and find the best bet for this game.
Heat Take Advantage
The Heat did what they were supposed to do by going up 2-0 in the series with two solid wins against the Embiid-less 76ers. The books feel like the combination of Embiid’s return and the home crowd will make this a one possession game, but the Heat have to feel good about the job they’ve done on Harden, and not letting Philly get in a rhythm.
They have a lot of guys on the injury report including Kyle Lowry, but Herro coming off the bench has been big, and Bam should be able to neutralize Embiid if he returns.
76ers Must Win
Philly must take game three to have a chance in this series, and even though Maxey had a big game in game two, they haven’t really been close to winning these games, so a lot rides on the shoulders of Embiid.
Even if Embiid returns, I don’t see him being 100% effective as the mask is cumbersome, and he could be a bit hesitant to bang down low. Philly doesn’t have hardly any depth, and Danny Green has been awful shooting the three. They’ll need him to be better, and they’ll need Embiid to perform at the MVP level to get a win.
76ers vs Heat Prediction
The home crowd should give Philly a boost, but they still don’t have good defense for Miami so I’ll take the over 210.5.
Philadelphia hasn’t shot better than 27% from threes in this series, I see this number regressing up, and last game the total ended up at 222. Miami should continue scoring even if Embiid returns, this number seems a few points too low.
Prediction: Over 210.5
