Dollar Tree 301 Track: New Hampshire Motor Speedway

The Dollar Tree 301 takes place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a 1.058-mile oval nicknamed “The Magic Mile” and one of the flattest tracks on the NASCAR schedule.

The corners feature only 2 to 7 degrees of banking, putting a huge emphasis on braking, throttle control, and getting the car to rotate through the center of the turns.

Drivers have to slow the car considerably entering the corners before getting back to the throttle without spinning the rear tires, making mechanical grip extremely important.

New Hampshire often gets compared to tracks like Phoenix and Richmond, so drivers and teams that perform well on flatter short tracks tend to carry that success over to Loudon.

Passing can be difficult during long green-flag runs, making track position, pit strategy, and especially late-race restarts extremely important. Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin have been particularly strong at New Hampshire in recent years, and both have traditionally excelled on this style of track.

The Dollar Tree 301 is a technical race where patience and long-run handling matter, and one bad restart or mistake on pit road can completely change a driver’s afternoon.

Bell has been a top 5 machine this season with 10 top 5 finishes, 7 of them being 2nd place which is remarkable. Nascar’s bridesmaid of the 2026 season slightly missed out last week when they made a strategy call late in the race but still managed a 7th place finish.

Bell has the 6th best average a NHMS speedway and baring a disaster of a race he should once again be in the mix to put the 20 car in victory lane. Let’s take the top 5 at a playable number.
