We’re looking at the first game on the board for a NRFI play today as the Nationals and Mets conclude a three-game series in New York today.

Michael Soroka gets the start for Washington not allowing a run in all seven of his starts this season. He was near flawless in his last start against Texas going six innings while allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out seven.

The Mets do look to make it six straight wins but on the season they haven’t scored in the first in 72% of total games.

Kodai Senga starts for New York sporting a 1.13 home ERA on the season and he’s even better in day time starts with an ERA of 0.93.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of 12 total starts this season with Washington failing to score in the first inning in 70% of road games this season.

It’s also worth noting that Washington has averaged just 1.5 runs per game over their last five. Play on a Nationals vs Mets NRFI today at -115 with first pitch at 1:10PM ET.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles (-145)

Ace Tarik Skubal takes the mound for Detroit tonight against the Orioles not having allowed a first inning run in 11 of 13 starts on the season including four straight.

Skubal has been better at home than the road this season, but opposing Orioles hitters have a combined .188 batting average against him all time to go along with a .250 slugging percentage.

Baltimore has failed to score in the first inning at home in 77% of games this season with the Orioles failing to score in the first inning now in three-straight.

Sure, the Tigers offense will look to bounce back against Orioles starter Dean Kremer but the righty has been much better at home this season sporting a 2.25 ERA than on the road where his ERA balloons up to 6.33. He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in eight of 13 starts this season including five straight.

The Tigers offense has been hot overall this season but as of late it’s plateaued as they’ve averaged under three runs per game across their last five. Play on a Tigers vs Orioles NRFI to occur today with first pitch at 6:35PM ET and odds listed at -145.
