MLB Home Run Props Today: Best HR Picks, Predictions & Bets

Best MLB Home Run Prop Today #1: Munetaka Murakami (CHW) +350

White Sox rookie Munetaka Murakami gets his first taste of MLB Playoffs action as the White Sox continue their Cinderella run this season in Houston taking on the Astros in their AL Wildcard round matchup.

Both the White Sox and Astros will go with openers to start the game so we’ll be seeing much of each team’s bullpen in this one. The Astros bullpen has been shaky all season giving up the fourth most home runs of all bullpen units as we’ll look at Murakami to cash his home run props tonight.

A majority of Astros relievers are right handed with Murakami blasting 28 of his 35 home runs against right handers while slugging .520 compared to a .376 slugging percentage against lefties.

If you remove Hunter Brown, Murakami is 4-12 with a home run against all other Astros pitchers with 15 of his 35 home runs coming on the road as well.

AJ Blubaugh opens for Houston allowing three home runs over his last 11.2 and sports a 7.71 ERA in the month of September so far.

Given Chicago continues to play loose with nothing to lose, let’s take Murakami to hit a home run tonight at +350 odds. If you’re looking at other White Sox for home run props consider Colson Montgomery and Miguel Vargas (+410 each).

Best MLB Home Run Prop Today #2: Manny Machado (SD) +410

The Cubs and Padres start up their NL Wildcard series in San Diego tonight with lefty Matthew Boyd taking the mound for Chicago.

Manny Machado was able to reach 30 home runs this regular season which was the eighth time he’s done that in his career. We’re going to take him to hit his home run props tonight with 12 home runs career in the post season.

He’s 9-20 with four doubles and a home run all-time against Boyd and has batted .229 against lefties this season compared to a .214 average against righties.

He’s batting .227 at home compared to .208 on the road this season with Boyd giving up 15 in total this season. Although only four of those have come on the road this season, 14 of the 15 have come against right handed batters with Boyd allowing a .407 slugging percentage to righties compared to a .265 slugging percentage against left handed batters this season.

This regular season against the Cubs, Machado had a .300 batting average and .600 slugging percentage and he ended the regular season in solid form with two home runs in the last seven days.

Take Machado at +410 odds to hit his home run props tonight with other Padres to look at for home run props includes Fernando Tatis Jr. (+390) and Ty France (+570).
