Martinez has allowed 13 home runs on the season with eight of those coming against righties and overall allowing a .503 slugging percentage against righties compared to a .433 slugging percentage against left-handed batters.

Sure, Machado has better power against left-handed pitching this season but he’s still hitting .311 against righties as well as .316 in night games to go along with a .500 slugging percentage at night too.

Martinez hasn’t started since June 19 when he allowed seven earned runs including three home runs in 2.2 innings against the Twins at home with two relief appearances since then.

Let’s take Machado at +280 odds to hit a home run tonight in Cincinnati. Other Padres players who can potentially hit a home run include Jackson Merrill (+255) and Gavin Sheets (+420).

The Red Sox return home from a nine-game road trip and the team couldn’t be happier losing their last five of that trip to the Giants and Angels.

Specifically, Jarren Duran went just 6-35 during that trip, but he hasn’t been a great hitter on the road overall this season.

Tonight they get the Blue Jays sending Jose Berrios to the mound with Duran going 10-21 with eight of those being extra base hits including three home runs.

Berrios has actually faced the Red Sox twice already this season and has been spectacular going 13.2 innings while allowing just three earned runs in total so we think there should be some regression to the means tonight.

Duran sports a .294 batting average and .481 slugging percentage at home compared to a .220 average and .335 slugging percentage on the road.

Sure, he only has five home runs this season but all five have come off right handed pitching as he’s coming off a season where he hit 21 home runs.

Berrios has allowed six of his 12 home runs on the road this season but he’s pitched 14 less innings away from the Rogers Centre so far in 2025.

Yes, Duran is in the midst of a hitting slump, but the scenario sets up perfectly tonight for him to hit a home run at +600 odds. Other Red Sox batters to look at for a home run includes Wilyer Abreu (+470) and Trevor Story (+560).
