De La Cruz is one of the hottest hitters not just on the Marlins, but in the MLB, and we like him to continue mashing tonight. De La Cruz has five home runs this season, and all of them are off of right-handed pitching. De La Cruz has seen Bryce Elder, Atlanta’s starter, eight times, and he has four hits, including a double and a home run.
Bryce Elder allowed 19 home runs last season, and nine of them were against right-handed batters. He had a 2.70 HR/9 against righties. Elder is a sinker/slider pitcher, and he is making his first appearance of the 2024 season. Elder allowed 11 home runs off his slider last season. Based on the history and the matchup, De La Cruz going yard is one of the best home run prop bets to make today.
Christian Walker (AZ) +420
Christian Walker has three home runs so far this season, and all three of them have come against right-handed pitching. Tonight, he faces Lance Lynn who allowed 20 home runs to right-handed batters, and already two to them this year. Walker is 1-7 in his career against Lynn, but the one ball he did make contact with left the yard.
Lance Lynn predominantly throws a 4-seem fastball and a cutter, and he mixes in a slider. Walker has a 135 wRC+ against right-handed pitching and a .192 ISO. Walker has yet to hit a home run on the road this season, but his batting average is actually higher away from Arizona than it is in Arizona.
