Best Home Run Prop Bets – MLB Free HR Props Picks

Matt Olson, Atlanta Braves +375

Matt Olson, last year’s home run champion, has a chance to get his season started with a bang. The Braves game was postponed yesterday due to rain, so this is Opening Day for the Braves and the Phillies. Olson hit 54 home runs last season, and 44 of them came off of right-handed pitching. In his career against Wheeler, Olson has two home runs against him. Atlanta has such a deep lineup that pitchers cannot pitch around studs like Olson, so it’s likely he will see pitches to hit throughout the game. The weather in Philly is not the best, but with Olson’s strength and ability to hit home runs, there is value in this number for Olson.

Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros +340

Carlos Rodon is a lefty who is typically tough on left-handed bats, but Yordan Alvarez is not your typical lefty. Alvarez actually has a higher career batting average against left-handed pitching, and he’s a matchup nightmare for any pitching staff. Alvarez hit six of his 25 home runs last season against lefties, and he’s already hit a home run off of Rodon in his career. Since they play in a controlled environment in Houston, there are no weather concerns for this game, so Yordan certainly has a chance to hit a home run tonight in Houston.

Fernando Tatis Jr., San Diego Padres +380

Kyle Harrison looked great at times during his rookie campaign, but his one issue was letting up the long ball. In 34.2 innings last season, Harrison allowed eight home runs, and five of those were to right-handed hitters. Tatis hit seven home runs off of lefties last season, had a .227 ISO, and is 1-3 in his career off of Harrison. There are no weather concerns for the Padres today at Petco Park, so the balls should be flying today. Tatis has been hitting the ball hard in his three games, so if he can get some launch angle, he has a chance to go yard today.
