Jake Bauers (MIL) +600
Jake Bauers has had a rough start to the 2024 MLB season, but we like Bauers to begin to turn his season around tonight. Bauers has just one home run this year off a right-handed pitcher, but he had 12 last season, and this is as good a matchup for him as any matchup he has had. In 10 career at-bats against Kyle Gibson, Bauers is 4-10 with two doubles. He has a 96.5 exit velocity in those at-bats, and his average launch angle is 25.6 degrees. Bauers hits Gibson hard, and he hits the ball in the air.
Kyle Gibson has allowed four home runs already this season, and three of them have come off of lefties. He has a 2.89 HR/9 against left-handed batters and a 41.4% fly-ball rate. Lefties are hitting Gibson hard 37.9% of the time, and 25% of the fly balls he is allowing are going for home runs. Given Bauers’s history against Gibson and the way Gibson is currently pitching, this is one of the best home run prop bets to make today.
Mookie Betts (LAD) +375
Mookie and his insane production so far this season needs no introduction, and tonight, he gets to face a pitcher he has seen a ton and had a lot of success against. In Betts’ career against Sean Manea, Mookie is 10-29 with three home runs. He hits the ball hard with an average exit velocity of 93.3 and a launch angle of 19.1 degrees.
Betts has six home runs so far this season, and just one of them is off a lefty. Last season, Betts had 14 home runs off of lefties. Manaea has allowed just one home run so far this season, and it was against a right-handed batter. Last season, Manaea allowed 12 of his 14 home runs to righties. Based on the history, this is one of the best home run prop bets to make tonight.
