College Basketball Props Prediction 1: Xavier Johnson, Indiana Over 13.5 Points (-120 DraftKings)

Xavier Johnson is entering his sixth college basketball season and his third with the Hoosiers as Indiana takes on Florida Gulf Coast tonight in their opener.

Johnson’s ppg average have gone down the past three season’s but after the departures of Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Miller Kopp and Race Thompson, this could be the year for Johnson to break out.

His points number is set at 13.5 which he should be able to eclipse should he get off 12+ shots. Even being the 3rd or 4th scoring option in 11 games last season, Johnson still scored 10 ppg, but should be utilized much more on the offensive end at least to open up the season.

Coach Mike Woodson will likely do some experimenting with a high turnover on his roster, but Johnson should remain the constant playing around 30 minutes tonight.

Take Johnson to come out of the gates strong and prove his worth to this Hoosiers starting lineup going up and over 13.5 points tonight.

First Touchdown Scorer Prop Prediction 2: Johni Broome, Auburn Over 14.5 Points (-130 DraftKings)

Junior Johni Broome averages 15 ppg for his career ahead of Auburn’s opening night game at Baylor tonight.

Last season Baylor was solid at defending the 3-pt shot but ranked 315th among all teams in 2-pt field goal percentage allowed and 239th in effective field goal percentage allowed.

Broome shot 52% from the field last season while grabbing eight rebounds per game including three offensive rebounds.

Baylor was 293rd in offensive rebounding percentage allowed so we should expect Broome to generate some points via offensive rebound put-backs for the Tigers.

Last season, Auburn’s offense came mostly inside ranking 46th in offensive efficiency overall and generating 52.9% of points inside the arch which was 108th in the nation compared to 26.8% of points from the 3-pt line which was 299th.

Look for Broome to make his presence known inside getting up and over 14.5 points in tonight’s contest against Baylor in South Dakota.
