Now Freeman gets another opportunity to feast on Tyler Mahle who he’s gone 8-19 (.421) against with a home run and three free passes. Mahle has been a great addition in the Braves rotation, but he will be on the shortest of leashes tonight as Atlanta looks to avoid elimination.
Freeman has also had short term success against multiple Atlanta relievers including Ray Kerr (1-3), Dylan Lee (3-7) and Brent Suter (4-10 HR).
The Dodgers first baseman has also thrived on the road where he’s posted a .323 batting average and .909 OPS compared to a .254 batting average and .674 OPS at home. Freeman is facing his former team where he spent the first decade of his career and he’s clearly been motivated early on in this series.

Ben Rice has covered this line in 3 of his first 4 playoff games during the 2026 campaign while going 7-15 (.467) with four home runs and a double in the process.
Now Rice gets another crack at Nick Martinez who he’s gone 4-9 (.444) against with three doubles and two free passes. Martinez hasn’t pitched since September 27th in a game where he allowed 4 earned runs across only 2.2 innings of work against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Rice has posted better power numbers at Yankee Stadium where he’s hit 22 of his 41 home runs despite logging 45 less at-bats than on the highway. This is do or die for the Yankees and if they build up a solid lead, I’m not sure that we will see the Rays high leverage arms as they have three chances to win this series now.
