Austrian Grand Prix Preview

The 2026 Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, a 4.326 km (2.688-mile) circuit nestled in the Styrian mountains.

Despite having only nine corners, the track is one of the fastest laps on the Formula 1 calendar, featuring three long straights, heavy braking zones, and dramatic elevation changes that create plenty of overtaking opportunities.

The first half of the lap climbs uphill through a series of hard-braking corners, while the second half flows downhill through high-speed bends like the famous Rindt Corner.

The Red Bull Ring rewards cars with strong straight-line speed and excellent traction out of slow corners, making qualifying and race pace equally important.

Overreaction to last week when Antonelli had reliability issues taking him out of the race, and Hamilton got a lucky VSC to give him perfect track position off a free pit stop. Mercedes won’t have reliability issues two weeks in a row in that car, if he ends up on the pole this line will be +110.
