Expert NBA Player Props for Wednesday: Jaylen Brown, Celtics Over 22.5 Points (-102)

It looks like Jayson Tatum is going to Game 2 with a wrist injury and Jaylen Brown shook of the rust after missing time due to a knee injury with 30 minutes of court time in Game 1.

Brown only scored 16 points on 6-14 from the field but he did come to life with 10 points in the 3rd quarter (his final quarter due to a blowout).

Brown has covered this line in 10 of 12 games without Tatum on the court during the past two seasons when playing 25+ minutes.

That includes a 35-point effort against the Orlando Magic where he shot 15-29 from the field on December 23rd.

Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero both missed that game, but I don’t see either player shutting down Brown defensively.

Brown has also thrived at home where he covered this number in 63% of his games compared to only 38% of his road games. This feels like a low number based on the situation and we can take full advantage.

Expert NBA Player Props for Wednesday: Davion Mitchell, Heat Over 17.5 Points + Assists (-118)

Despite coming off the bench, Davion Mitchell is locked into an amazing role with the Miami Heat as he basically plays the final 17 minutes of each half resulting in 34 minutes of court time in Game 1.

Mitchell posted a 27 PA effort in that game while recording 20 potential assists and shooting an efficient 8-12 from the field.

Mitchell has now covered this PA line in 11 of his last 14 games including all three postseason games where he landed on 27, 21 and 24 PA.

When playing 30+ minutes with Tyler Herro on the court, Mitchell has cleared this number in 9 of his last 10 games.

Bottom line, the Heat need Mitchell on the court for his defensive prowess and it’s critical that he guards players like Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. However, he’s also excelled on the offensive end with tons of volume in the PA categories.
