(101) Carolina Panthers at (102) Arizona Cardinals: 1H Total
8:00pm EDT - Aug 6/2026

THE PLAY: 1H Total Under 17.5 (-109)

Forgot to talk about this on the Morning Wager, although we did run through every MLB matchup for Thursday (see video below).

Carolina has gone 0-6 ATS in the preseason in two years under HC Dave Canales. Yet the Panthers, who ended up winning the NFC South last year despite an 8-9 straight up record, are actually favorites in this year's Hall of Fame Game as they face the team many expect to have the worst record in the league this season.

I actually like Arizona to go Over their paltry win total of 3.5. There's a multitude of reasons why. This was an unlucky team last season that dealt with a ton of injuries. But I'm not looking to back the Cardinals here, even though logic dictates 1st year HC Mike LaFleur would probably like to get his tenure off to a winning start.

Instead, I'd recommend looking at the 1H Under. The starting QBs for this game will be Kenny Pickett and Carson Beck. Now Pickett has previously looked fairly competent in the preseason. But the Panthers will be his third team in as many seasons. Beck is a rookie getting his first real taste of NFL action. He's not going to be put in a position where he might make a mistake. I just see a conservative approach unfolding, from both head coaches, and I like the 1H Under considering we're north of 17 (key number when betting totals).
