THE PLAY: Kel’el Ware (MIA) to Record a Double-Double vs Charlotte
Bam Adebayo is slated to miss tonight’s game against the Hornets. Miami and Charlotte just played on October 28 and the Heat enjoyed a 144-117 win. With Adebayo out of the lineup we should see plenty of usage for Kel’el Ware, who averaged 17 points and 10.8 rebounds per game in four games last season in which Adebayo didn’t play. We're getting even-money on Ware to record a double-double on Friday, which he did in 27 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday. Charlotte has improved its rebounding rate this season, but the Hornets have shown some vulnerabilities to opposing centers. Minnesota's Rudy Gobert hauled in 15 rebounds and Philadelphia's Andre Drummond had 13 rebounds in 16 minutes against the Hornets. The Hornets have allowed the third-most points per game to opposing centers so far this season. With a relatively-low point spread of only 4-5 points, this should be a competitive game with a decreased chance of garbage time in the fourth quarter. Ware could see a season-high of minutes played, and after he recorded 15 double-doubles last season, we like his chances to add to that tally on Friday night.
