The Falcons current QB rating would be higher if they spiked the ball on every down. Now we get the return of Michael Penix Jr, and even the most pessimistic projects allow for an improvement. There are some crazy stats here, like the Packers ranking dead last in rushing while the Falcons rank 1st in rush yards allowed. As bad as Cooper Rush and Jack Strand played, Jordan Love ranks dead last in the NFL in completion percentage behind even Atlanta's 3rd and 4th string QBs. Take the points!

Deshaun Watson actually played well, throwing for 238 yards and a pair of TDs on 24-of-30 passing. Cleveland usually plays better at home than on the road, and the Panthers defense has really struggled against the run. This looks like a case of wrong team favored.

Clemson hasn't played a road game West of the Mississippi River in decades, and when I asked Grok the last time the Tigers played on the road in the Pacific Time Zone, the answer was in 1966 in a 30-0 loss at USC. The struggles on West Coast schools traveling out East is well documented, but there is not as much data on East Coast schools going out West. Needless to say, this Clemson program is a dumpster fire at the moment. They got rolled over by LSU, then barely beat Georgia Southern as a huge favorite. Last week they were losing to North Carolina at home in the 4th quarter, and just as the Tar Heels were knocking on the door with first and goal that likely would have led to a TD putting the game out of reach, the game was delayed 2.5 hrs for lightning. Of course the Tar Heels imploded after the delay, and Clemson got a rather phony win, and an even more egregious cover. Cal has an elite QB, and this program is trending in the right direction. I can't imagine a clearer case of the wrong team favored.

Who is Jesse Schule?

He's no soothsayer, and he doesn't have a crystal ball, but Jesse Schule can indeed predict the future. As a professional handicapper, it is part of his job description. His clients have accused him of secretly possessing Marty McFly's Sports Almanac, but he tells us the secret to his success is partly thanks to his fascination with history. The idea that you can predict the future by studying the past is nothing new. Historians have been doing it for years.

Jesse made headlines in 2019 when he not only predicted that the Toronto Raptors would beat the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals but also cashed in prop bets on the Finals MVP and the number of games it would take for Toronto to win the series. Keep in mind that the Warriors were an overwhelming favorite, and the Washington Post actually wrote an article titled: NBA Finals Experts picks: Basically, no one thinks the Raptors can beat the Warriors.
Some might call it luck, especially given the injuries to Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. As luck would have it, though, just two years earlier, Jesse had won in a similar fashion by exploiting the player prop markets in the 2017 NBA Finals. Jesse told his clients before the series started that he thought there was a good chance the series would be over in 4-5 games, and that presented excellent value in shorting the player performance totals for key players, especially on the losing team. He ended up making six futures bets on the series, winning all six of those bets.

His success is by no means limited to the NBA, and his accolades include several #1 finishes over the years.
