THE PLAY: Draymond Green (GSW) Over 5.5 Assists at San Antonio
We are going right back to the well with a similar angle that we cashed with on Monday: Assists for centers that are playing against the Spurs. Rockets center Alperen Sengun had eight assists against the Spurs last Friday and Chicago's Nikola Vucevic had six assists on Monday. Golden State is on the second leg of a back-to-back, but the Warriors were crushed against the Thunder on Tuesday and quickly pulled their starters. No player saw more than 24 minutes and Draymond Green only played 22 minutes last night. San Antonio allows the most assists per game to opposing centers. With Victor Wembanayama patrolling the paint, opposing centers have been forced to become passers instead of scorers. Green averaged six assists per game in three head-to-head matchups with the Spurs last season and he is the Warriors' assist leader so far this season at 5.6 per game.
