(265) Los Angeles Rams at (266) Philadelphia Eagles: Spread
1:00pm EDT - Oct 4/2026

THE PLAY: Los Angeles Rams -3.0 (-108)

Philadelphia has won ten of the last 11 meetings with Los Angeles, including three victories over the last two seasons. Eight of the last nine contests between the Eagles and Rams have gone over the total. LA blew a 26-7 lead at Lincoln Financial Field last season. Jalen Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith for the go-ahead touchdown with under two minutes remaining, and the Eagles' special teams unit blocked LA's game-winning field goal attempt as time expired. We're not sure how much of the Rams' early-season struggles should be blamed on their schedule and travel, but Sean McVay has been elite at preventing losing streaks and getting a strong bounce-back effort following a loss. Los Angeles is 34-20-3 against the spread following a straight-up loss, and blindly backing the Rams in this spot would have produced a +20.5-percent ROI since McVay took over the Rams' program. Rams' wide receiver Puka Nacua has missed each of the last two games, and head coach Sean McVay was not beaming with optimism that Nacua would be back at full strength in this game. Speaking of 'not beaming with optimism,' that would be a kind way to describe what Eagles fans are feeling this week after watching their team score seven points on Monday night in Chicago. If the timekeeper had a slightly-faster finger, Philadelphia would have gotten shut-out against the Bears because the lone touchdown was scored with one second (probably closer to 0.1) remaining in the first half. Since the beginning of the 2025 season, the Eagles' offense has produced 60 drives that have gone three-and-out (29.0-percent is the highest rate in the NFL). During that time, Philadelphia's average distance-to-go on third down is 7.7 yards, which is the second-highest mark in the league. The Eagles' rushing attack has produced either zero or negative yards on 131 rushing attempts, which is the second-highest mark in the league. The coaching changes and wide receiver moves have produced very little difference thus far. The Rams know how to bounce back from a loss under McVay, and while Lincoln Financial Field is typically a tough place to play, the Philly Phaithful may have an appetite to turn sour on the home team if this offensive spiral continues. (193) Arkansas State at (194) UL Lafayette: Spread
8:00pm EDT - Oct 3/2026

THE PLAY: UL Lafayette -6.5 (-108)

Louisiana has won seven of the last eight meetings, including a 34-30 road win at Arkansas State last season. The RedWolves' lone win over the Cajuns in recent years came in 2023 as a 7.5-point home 'dog. Arkansas State scored off a 27-yard fumble return for a touchdown and a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in last year's contest, yet the RedWolves still couldn't close the deal at home. If not then...when?! Louisiana has covered the number in every game thus far, including last week's 34-7 road win at Charlotte. The Cajuns' defense held the 49ers to 137 total yards and six first downs on 3.0 yards per play. Arkansas State earned a nice home win over Kennesaw State last week, but the RedWolves have gotten smacked by Memphis and TCU when trying to make a jump in class. Closely-lined games like this simply have not gone the RedWolves' way in recent years. They closed as a 4.5-point road favorite at Kennesaw State last year and lost by a touchdown. They closed as a 1.5-point road 'dog at UL-Monroe and lost by 12. They closed as a 2.5-point home favorite against Louisiana last year and lost by four. They closed as a 6,5-point home favorite over Kennesaw last week and won by a field goal. This hasn't been a good spot for Arkansas State in the past, and the Ragin Cajuns have proven to be a trustworthy commodity with Lunch Winfield at the helm. Play Louisiana

(153) Navy at (154) Air Force: Total
12:00pm EDT - Oct 3/2026

THE PLAY: Total Under 46.5 (-110)

Word from the Pentagon is that Navy might have some problems hanging onto the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy for a third straight season if it can’t get QB Braxton Woodson (out recently with an ankle sprain) back to active duty. Though Woodson entered 2026 with limited work in the past, he was Brian Newberry’s preferred choice to run Drew Cronic’s unique option-with-Wing T elements because of his explosive running ability, which were on display in early games vs. Towson and Florida Atlantic when Woodson would rank among the nation’s rush leaders with 296 yards and four TDs after just two weeks. Granted, backup Jackson Gutierrez has also displayed some pop, but last week’s loss at UAB was more than a bit sobering especially as the Midshipmen were uncharacteristically sloppy when losing two fumbles in Birmingham. Meanwhile, Troy Calhoun’s corresponding option at Air Force seems to be running at peak efficiency (interestingly also on 1,001 rushing yards, as is Navy, after three games) with a more-experienced pilot in Liam Szarka, who punished Nevada with 171 rushing yards in last week’s exciting OT win in Reno. Service academy rivalries usually prompt us to consider looking “under” (48-14-1 the past 21 years!) as the dueling options often keep the chains and clock moving, and on the average about 15-20 fewer plays from scrimmage than most other FBS, non-dueling option battles. Though the Navy-Air Force rivalry has been a little more lively than the other recent matchups involving Army, as the case last year’ in the Mids’ 34-31 win at Annapolis. Note that Szarka dazzled in that clash in one of his earliest starts, accounting for 364 yards and all four Falcon TDs (two rushing, two passing). If there’s an advantage either way at the remodelled Falcon Stadium, it’s probably him, even if Woodson returns to active duty this week for the Mids, though as usual our first reaction is to look "under" in Commander-in-Chief battles. Play the Under
