THE PLAY: Tennessee Titans +8.5 (-110)

I get it. The Broncos figure to be the most popular choice in the Circa Survivor contest. Perhaps for good reason as QB Bo Nix went a perfect 8-0 straight up and against the spread during his rookie year. Furthermore, it’s the Titans that now have a rookie QB starting Week 1 this year (that being #1 overall DC choice Cam Ward). Rookie QBs playing on the road in Week 1 are just 8-21 SU with zero wins since 2018.

However, those rookie QBs playing on the road in Week 1 are a little more respectable ATS (13-14-2), losing by an average of just under six points per game. Here, we are able to get a big number with the Titans. Week 1 underdogs of 6.5 or more are 49-27 ATS in Week 1 since 2006. Only once in the last 19 seasons have you failed to make money blindly betting all dogs of 6.5 or more in NFL Week 1. Besides Tennessee, there’s just one other this year (New Orleans). I’m higher on the Titans than most coming into the year. I’m lower on the Broncos than most.
