THE PLAY: Nicolai Hojgaard Top 20 (+175)

If you are looking for someone who is going to make a ton of birdies at a tournament where you will need to do so in order to be competitive, Nicolai Hojgaard is your guy. We saw what he can do before missing the cut at the Masters where he shot 4 over with 5 birdies and an eagle in Round 1. I do not believe there is much difference in Nicolai’s game compared to Rasmus (45-1 compared to 70-1) outside of his struggles around the greens as we saw during the team event in Louisiana. Nicolai will need to use his game around the greens to scramble at some point, but I am leaning on him hitting more greens than usual here as well as Detroit Golf Club not being “dangerous” around the greens.

We have not seen Nicolai put together a solid 4 rounds of golf since the Mexico Open back in February but has shown signs that his game is coming together like we saw at Quail Hollow. I think this is a great buy low spot on a guy that is talented and can rack up birdies against a soft field and a “weak” golf course setup that he can attack.

Working at a country club a mile east of Del Mar Racetrack, Sean was introduced to horse racing and his passion for the sport took off. The puzzle of going through past performances and replays appealed to Sean and spent his time after work listening to respected handicappers to learn as much as he could. In his first season playing the NHC Tour, he qualified for the Championship by placing 2nd in the LRF Cares contest after turning his initial $250 bankroll into $3,640.40.
