(905) San Francisco Giants at (906) Atlanta Braves: Moneyline
7:15pm EDT - Jun 16/2026

THE PLAY: Atlanta Braves -162 Adrian Houser (RHP), Grant Holmes (RHP) Must Start

3% Atlanta (7:15 ET): We don’t normally associate this price range as being “cheap,” but in the case of this particular matchup, it is. I know the Braves have been in a bit of a “slump” over the last week, dropping four of their last five games (all on the road). But they still have the best overall record in baseball (46-25) and now return home where they are 22-11 this season and allowing an average of only 3.18 runs per game (#1). The Braves have every conceivable edge over the Giants that you can imagine, so I’m backing them in this series opener.

While the Braves have the best overall record in baseball, the Giants have the second worst record in the National League (29-43). As I wrote about when I faded them on Saturday (vs. the Cubs), the Giants are near the bottom of my power rankings. In fact, right now, only the Rockies are lower. This is a Giants team that has been offensively inept for much of this season, save for a few big outbursts earlier this month. They’ve been held to three runs or less in six of the last eight games overall. One of the two exceptions was the miraculous rally vs. Washington when they found themselves down 9-1 entering the bottom of the eighth. So I expect a strong outing here from Braves’ starter Grant Holmes, who should bounce back from his shortest outing of the season last Tuesday. Holmes has allowed three runs or fewer in 12 of his 13 starts. The one exception came at Coors Field. Behind him is a Braves’ bullpen with - by far - the lowest ERA in all of MLB (2.82).

So we’ve pretty well established that it’s unlikely the Giants will score many runs in this game. Conversely, they’re likely to give up quite a few. Tuesday’s starter, Adrian Houser, has a 5.54 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 5.18 FIP. He also has poor career numbers vs. the Braves including an 0-5 record and 5.19 ERA. The last three times Houser has started here in Atlanta, he’s posted a woeful 8.49 ERA. The Braves’ lineup, already top five in baseball when it comes to runs per game (5.06), is getting catcher Drake Baldwin back from the IL tonight. Baldwin is a .303 hitter with 13 HRs and 38 RBIs this season. 3% Atlanta (Play to -175)
