The positive regression from the Astros was inevitable. Houston’s slow start to the season provided us with a good opportunity to start betting on them moving forward. After all, this is a team that ranks in the top 5 in OPS and top 3 in batting average. They’ve now won 5 of 6 and are in position to notch another victory behind Framber Valdez, who has started his season in elite form. Valdez hasn’t allowed a single barrel this year and has yet to give up more than 3 runs. He’s also been tremendous at producing ground balls, so expect Seattle’s lineup to have all sorts of problems. Logan Gilbert has been great as well, but the same cannot be said about the lineup production from the Mariners. They rank near the bottom of the league in several key categories offensively and haven’t scored more than 3 runs in any of their past 6 games. Expect the Mariners to continue to struggle here as Houston picks up another win at home. Take the Astros.
