Analysis

4% Wolves To Score (12:30 ET): This is - essentially - a BTTS bet as it stands to reason that Manchester City will score a goal at some point over the 90 minutes + stoppage time. However, stranger things have happened on the pitch this Premier League season. Look no further than City’s 2-0 win over relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest last weekend. Despite scoring twice and taking all three points, the Cityzens registered a meek 0.93 xG for that match. There’s basically no difference (in the price) between “BTTS-Yes” and Wolves to score, but it is the latter bet that we’re officially taking here.

Wolves were a nice winner for us last weekend as they defeated Luton Town 2-1. While it was their first win in the last eight Premier League matches, Gary O’Neil’s side still has a legit shot at finishing top half of the table as LW’s win moved them up into 11th place and they are now just three points off 9th. So the visitors will not be w/o motivation at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon, even with O’Neil NOT on the sidelines (suspended). The club is also healthier than it’s been in awhile, which showed in last week’s 2-goal effort. That was admittedly against a weak opponent, but remember that Wolves BEAT City (2-1) in the reverse back in September!

Wolves have also beaten Chelsea (twice!) and Tottenham this season and we’ve seen them score goals against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa. So they’ve had success against teams at/near the top of the table. Now I am not expecting them to complete what would be an improbable league double against City here. But finding the back of the net is quite likely. I say that knowing full well that City hasn’t conceded in any of the L3 matches (including FA Cup vs. Chelsea). But three weeks ago, Luton Town was only +105 to score against Pep Guardiola’s team. Wolves having higher odds is crazy (to me) and something we’ve got to jump on Saturday. I do not see City keeping a 4th consecutive clean sheet. 4% Wolves to Score (Play to +105)
