St. Louis Blues vs Nashville Predators Betting Analysis

Just a single point separates the St. Louis Blues and the Nashville Predators ahead of Thursday night’s Central Division clash over in the Enterprise Center in Missouri with both teams looking to make a second-half playoff push this season.

The Nashville Predators come into this one off the back of two straight home wins against the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets respectively, but dropped both their previous two road games prior to those wins.

The St. Louis Blues meanwhile secured a 2-1 victory over Ottawa on Monday, but dropped two straight games themselves prior to that win.

The two teams have split two games already this season, with Nashville winning 6-2 at home back in October, while the Blues evened the series with a 1-0 OT win in this venue back in December.

That’s been a trend going back a few seasons as well, with the home team predominately having a strong advantage in this series. Home teams in this series have gone 27-12 in the last 39 meetings between these two teams.

Nashville’s Offense Continues To Stutter

With a 2.73 goals per game average and a shot conversion percentage of just 8.76% this season, both bottom six in the league overall, Nashville have continued to struggle on offense this year.

That’s continued into recent games also as despite coming off back-to-back victories over their last two games, the Predators got outshot by an average of 11 shots per game across those two wins by the Flames and Blue Jackets respectively.

Blues Creating Little But Generating A Lot

The Nashville Predators haven’t been the only team struggling on offense this season, with the Blues generating just 20 shots on goal in Monday’s win over Ottawa and ranking 28th in the league on high danger creation rate this year as well, 14 places below Nashville.

The good news for St. Louis however is that when they do get inside that slot area, they generally do a ton of damage, converting almost 12% of all their high-danger scoring opportunities this year, which ranks top five in the league overall, with Nashville converting just 9.1% of theirs, 26th in the league.

St. Louis Blues vs Nashville Predators Prediction

A strong case could be made for either team ahead of this matchup, with both teams displaying a ton of weaknesses this season that could well be exploited in Thursday night’s game.

With that said, St. Louis have shown themselves to be more dangerous up top than the Predators this season and that could well be the difference maker in this one, especially factoring in that strong home trend bias in this series as well.

We’ll give the nod towards the St. Louis Blues on Thursday to win this game at home against the Nashville Predators.

Prediction: St. Louis Blues Moneyline (-110)
