Calgary Flames vs Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis
Just two points separate the Los Angeles Kings from the Vegas Golden Knights and the top of the Western Conference heading into the final few weeks of the regular season, and they’ll no doubt be looking to close that gap even further with another road win on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames.
Calgary meanwhile have found themselves consistently misfiring over the last month or so, and now sit with a less than 20% chance to make the playoffs after winning just six of their last sixteen games going back to February 23rd.
This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season after Los Angeles won both of their previous two matchups by a combined 12-5 margin.
However, Calgary did win game one in this series all the way back in November in this very same venue, and will aim for a repeat in this one.
Los Angeles Flat-Track Bullies
While the Los Angeles Kings have dropped games against the likes of Carolina, Minnesota, New Jersey, and the New York Rangers over the last two months, generally speaking, the Kings have been excellent against teams at the other end of the spectrum this season, winning 43 of their last 61 games against teams with an overall losing record.
A lot of that success for the Kings has come from a power-play offense that ranks 2nd in the league this season right behind the Edmonton Oilers.
Consistency A Huge Issue For Calgary
A major lack of consistency for the Calgary Flames has been their Achilles heel this year, with excellent performances in games followed up by fairly tepid ones as they’ve failed to put good results together on a persistent basis.
A 5-goal win against Anaheim last Tuesday was followed up with a loss to Vegas and a 7-goal win against Vegas two weeks ago was followed up by a loss to Dallas, and that theme has continued for Calgary throughout much of the season, winning just seven of their 28 matchups after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game.

The Calgary Flames have continuously shown that they’ve tended to struggle in games after a high-scoring win in their previous matchup, and we’ve no reason to doubt that may well be the case in Tuesday’s game also.
On top of that, we have a situation in this one where they’re facing one of the better defenses in the league, with the Los Angeles Kings ranking top five in defensive xGA this year as well as 4th on opponent shots allowed per game also.
If Calgary do come out a little flat on Tuesday against the Kings they could struggle to generate much offense against a well-drilled Los Angeles Kings defense that have kept ten of their previous eleven opponents under this same team total, so we’re happy taking the Calgary Flames Team Total Goals Under 3.5 in this one for Tuesday.
