Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers Analysis

Two undefeated teams clash on Monday as the 2-0 Florida Panthers travel to the TD Garden in Massachusetts to take on the 2-0 Boston Bruins later tonight.

The Panthers overcame a spirited effort from the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday with the game tied 2-2 heading into the second period before they started to pull away midway through that matchup, while the Bruins roared past the Arizona Coyotes 6-3 on that same day also, with both of Boston’s wins this season coming via three-goal margins.

Boston won the series 2-1 against Florida last season, with the Bruins winning both of their games at home against the Panthers.

Florida Not Hitting The Same Offensive Mark Early To Start The Year

Last year’s President’s Trophy winners the Florida Panthers were absolutely on fire last year offensively, ranking #1 on overall offensive scoring, #1 on total scoring chances per game, and #1 on offensive xG as well in what was an absolutely blistering attack with Huberdeau, Reinhart, and Barkov.

That hasn’t quite been the case to start this year, however, with the Panthers ranking 26th on overall offensive xG so far this season, and will no doubt look for a significant step up from that mark as the season rolls on.

Boston Hoping To Continue Solid H2H Record In The Garden

The Bruins have been solid at home, not just overall, but against the Panthers in particular.

The Bruins boast a stellar 41-18 record in their last 59 home games in the Garden, but against the Panthers in this venue it’s been even better, winning 19 of their last 26 meetings in Boston.

With the Bruins displaying the league’s #1 defensive xGA last season also, it could be another tough night for the Panthers in Boston on Monday.

Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers Prediction

Despite the Bruins solid H2H record in Boston over recent seasons, we’re edging towards taking the Panthers in this one on Monday night.

The Bruins haven’t looked the greatest defensively to start the year, ranking outside of the top ten in both opponent scoring chances against and opponent high-danger scoring chances against also, and the Panthers should be able to capitalize on that fact later tonight.

Boston continues to miss some key pieces to their lineup due to injury and even with Florida potentially coming into this one with some fatigue issues due to playing their third road game in five days, we nevertheless expect them to get over the line here on Monday and take the win. Take the Florida Panthers -130 on Monday to win on the road against the Boston Bruins.

Prediction: Florida Panthers Moneyline -130
